1964 K-H Knock-Off Wheel introduction Corvette Production?

Was it approximately VIN +/- 7,800 (November 1964) that knock-off wheels were seen on 1964 Corvettes? Also, did early '65 knock-offs appear with the ink stamp and not the die stamp?

I was thinking that VIN +/- 9,000 was the knockoff wheel debut.
However, my judging manual is not the most recent.
That info may have been updated in the 7th Edition.

My '64 VIN 9258, built Jan. 18th, 1964 has them and has been flight judged. Just can't remember when they first appeared in production.

Per the latest judging manual, the earliest documented 64 with knockoffs was #3285 built 11/13/63.

Several years ago at Bloomington I had the pleasure of meeting the original owner of 1964 11,076 and it had KO from the factory! Delivery was delayed because of flat tires. He took delivery and had to put 9 pounds of air in each tire every week. I Owned 1964 11,866 at the time and it had KO from the factory. Earlier delivery of KO wheels in 1964 was very doubtful!

Yes, early '65 KH wheels were ink stamped. Sometime around January/February '65 they began metal stamping. It's possible for metal stamped wheels to show up as early as December, conversely, some rubber stamped wheels may appear after February. Bill
