    Thanks for the update on the bolt. Always wondered why only listed for 1962 -68. It is odd that GM never cataloged the new number #9428643 for the later applications. Also, not referenced in any of my books, so am assuming that you were able to source the number from an AIM or other engineering document.

    Yes, the 9428643 can be found in 1969-82 AIM's. However, it's also found in the standard parts catalog. At least it is through July, 1984 when it was discontinued and replaced by GM #9440024. The latter bolt has similar specs but there must be some difference. The 9440024 remains available from GM to this very day.

    The curious thing is that the 3815933 was cataloged in both engine group 0.662 as well as standard parts group 8.900 with "group of prime use" 0.662 noted. The 9428643 was cataloged only in group 8.900 with no "group of prime use" noted.
