    Paint for A/C duct?

I have made repair using Harry's suggestion of the OEM ductwork from EBAY- decent repair, wish I had seen the adhesive recommendation. Working with 60 year old plastic isn't much fun, but it did the job. I still need to add the border below.5A814833-0C04-4C5A-BEB1-CF0B8E06587D_4_5005_c.jpeg24F6838B-F866-46CF-B13B-ABAE9329FF25_4_5005_c.jpeg

At any rate, after light wet sanding, I now have adequate repair. Am looking for suggestions for light paint coverage for the duct to blend in to the original material. I get that it won't show much, just need to get close.

    Thanks as always.

    John,
Repair looks good. does need to be strong. But it is much easier if you have paint equipment and reducers. I mix my own, but that's not always possible for others. So what I do is spray reducer over the sprayed area to melt in the overspray. Laquer thinner works best, but you have to have a way to spray it!
otherwise take your chances with the rattle can and put up with the edges of your paint patch (overspray).

Is a gloss black from any vendor a reasonable choice? Any preferences?

        John,
Not gloss black as your vent looks line it is between flat and satin finish.

Except for 63 ducts which are an odd shade of green.

            John,

You have done a great repair job! One other option i would try given I was in your situation as an alternative to touching the area up w/paint is continued wet sanding with finer and finer grit, then polish compounds to blend area w/original. A good exemplar is polishing headlight covers that are scratched and or dulled yellow. My rationale is this might be a longer lasting alternative to blending paint on a surface that was not painted originally.

Good luck, and hope you post the final product. Again great job!
