    Mark,
I had to pull it up online too. No magazine via the mail, yet.

Great article!! I only learned of NCRS a couple years ago and have enjoyed being a member and learning how the judging process works. I enjoy learning about the organizations history.

For those of you who remember Tom Essig, I spoke with him by phone a few months ago and he still has the C1 he bought (white '54 I believe) many years ago. He said he occasionally attends the local cruise in's around his home and to give him a call if I get over to his part of the state. I got the impression he would enjoy hearing from some of his old friends if anyone wants to reach out to him.

Re: Latest Restorer Article by Keith Kibbe

My Restorer arrived yesterday and the first article I read was Keith's. I recall Carl Strohm telling me about some of these NCRS growing pains. It is good to have a documentation of this history with our 50th Anniversary coming up. Keith was modest in not mentioning more strongly his and Judy's early encouragement of the movement that eventually lead to the Corvette Museum and also his favorable reception to the early C3 judging efforts. Documentation of the hard work of volunteers throughout our history should give us all hope for the future of NCRS. Thanks to Keith, Judy and the many, many other volunteers that have brought us to where we are.

I'm looking forward to receiving my copy now. I hope it gives me some perspective and insights into our current situations.

Thank you Keith for the history lesson. I've only been a member since the later 80's and heard many bits and pieces of the growing pains of the organization. I think Terry said it best with regard to all the very intelligent contributions members have made over the decades to get us where we are today.

I very much enjoyed and appreciated the article. Our first child was born the day after Zora sent his response to Keith so I was still figuring our how we would pay for diapers and baby formula since my wife quit her nursing job and cut our family income in half. I didn't know it at the time but owning a Corvette was 18 years in my future.

Great historical piece Keith. Enjoyed reading it and learning more about the people whose names I've seen/heard over the years but otherwise didn't know much about. Thanks for your insight and perseverance in developing the matrix judging system.

I just received my Restorer, and this is a great historical article that answers many questions. But I have one more, so how did the Bowtie Award come about and by whom?

Keith told you about the start of the matrix system.

CDCIF also = FDICC which Bloomington Gold began
Bow Tie / Crossed Flags = Survivor which Bloomington Gold started
These are not exactly equal, but one gave birth to the other

Edit add: I would have to spend more time in research than I care to in order to put some dates to these events, but they are all after the timeline Keith used in his article.

If one said there has been a symbiotic relationship between the two organizations one would not be far off the mark.
