1971 LT-1 Date Code Inventory

Hi Folks,

Thanks to everyone who helped me to decode my dates. Along with the 70-72 TIMJG and 1971 AIM, I've done the majority of the main parts.

When it comes to judging, I'm very encouraged by all of the original parts I've found on the vehicle.

In an effort to learn more about the car and understand my new purchase better, I took a lot of photos and did a little research.

I am sharing this date code inventory here for serial no. 16326 in the event it helps others. I also took a lot of photos available here.

Mick, I have heard there may be multiple build sheets in a car. Other have found them in the dash and under the carpet. Looks like a great car!

FWIW, it's always best to post information directly here on the NCRS Technical Discussion Board (TDB) such as your docs and photos.

That way, your info will be a permanent record on the NCRS TDB.

There are many links and photos that were hosted on other sites that were linked to other TDB posts, that are no longer available.

Very good point Gary and thanks for reminding me. I will PDF this and attach it once I’ve added a few other items to the inventory.

For the photos, especially where there are hundreds, I’m wondering if there is a way for NCRS to set up an account with Google Photos or other similar service. In such a situation I would be able to ‘transfer’ my date code and reference photos to something like ‘ncrsphotos@gmail.com’. At that point they could be saved and stored in the NCRS account and probably safer from disappearing. It might be a way for users to ‘donate’ their photos to NCRS in way that is sustainable (instead of uploading 400 images to TDB). Would be happy to help explore this, if there is interest, as I have seen many links to Google Photo albums of restorations / references from forums members.

Thanks Keith, At some point I’m going to try and do a full search, I don’t have the courage to start pulling it apart! Maybe at my first chapter meet I’ll get some advice and help on that.
