    Wind shield frame removal

I have been looking in the old post for how to remove the wind shield frame from my "62". Does any on have a step by step process that they can post. I know about the end bolts on both sides. I have all ready removed them, my biggest problem at this time is identifying the rest of the nuts that need to come out when looking up under the dash. I am trying not to remove any thing that does not relate to the wind shield frame if possible.

The best way I can tell you to get a good picture in your mind of the contour of the lower windshield and frame before you go under. The nuts will all look the same, and they will be aligned on the arc (contour) that you can see from above. There are several that have wiring retainer clips attached to the studs. Hiring a circus contortionist to do it would be wise.

        Re: Wind shield frame removal

Well I got the wind shield off the car this afternoon. After looking at all the nuts and bolts along the edge of the wind shield channel from under the dash, I saw the pattern of nuts that was not like the rest, just like Mike was saying to look for. The ones that gave me the most problems were the ones behind the defroster ducks. Why did GM do some thing like this is really crazy. Any way it is out now with nothing broken. I am going to write down Hank's PDF file address on the rebuild of wind shield frame and put it in my records for when I go to do that job. I won't do that until after the car is painted. Thanks for all the help on this subject.
