Question For Our 66 Vette Interior Experts>C48 Option

We all know that the 66 Vette did offer a C48 Heater Delete Option. We also know that the
Front Center Panel had holes provided for the Heater Switches. Instead of leaving the holes open they where plugged with Black Plugs #3847773 as shown in the AIM. Question>
Where all the plugs Black(Natural) in color regardless of the interior color of the car? Shown
below is a car with Red Interior and shows the plugs to be Red in color. Is this correct or should
they be black as shown with car below with a Black Interior.? Thanks in advance>Larry

Re: Question For Our 66 Vette Interior Experts>C48 Option

    Hello Larry,

I'm no expert for sure but I first looked at what Noland Adams book listed about these plugs. The 1966 Section referred us to 1964-1965 stating that all components in '66 RPO C48 were identical to those two years. Next the '64 Section referred us to 1963 stating the only difference in these plugs were a slightly different diameter plug size. But listed there on page 114 it does state that these metal plugs were painted to match interior color.

I probably should've checked my NCRS copy of the '66 Judging Guide first. There on page 29 it explains RPO C48 metal plugs were painted dash color. Mike
