While getting a car ready for judging I removed the spare tire tub to get a good look at some of the markings on my '67. This is an F41 car, so I'm familiar with the HD and SHD green marks, but there are some strange white markings under the differential that were obviously applied before the differential was installed. I can't make out the meaning here and I've never seen markings like this before. This car has not been restored or been apart. Can anyone decipher the meaning?

The only character that looks completely unobliterated is the one on the left (just right of the green SHP)
Looks to me that it could be a "7" if it was written with the same orientation as the "SHP"
But, if it was written from the other side, it could read as an "L"
The only axle ratio code that ends with an "L" for '67 is "AL" (327/3.08), so that's not it.
and all of the G81 ECLs end with an "A", so it's not that either (if written from the other side)
What is your axle ratio?thx,

so that's "FB" for the axle ratio - I'm not seein' anything that looks like part of an F or B except the 2nd character from the right could be the bottom stem of an "F"?
and there's only one ECL for an L71 w/ 4.11 - "PA" for L71 w/4.11 with M21, which I'm guessing is what you have
the ECL for L71 w/ F41 is "AC" - could the last 2 characters be the right leg of an "A" followed by a "C" that was written higher up of the baseline?
Still doesn't lead us to anything for the 1st 2 characters
I had mine out of the car ~17 years ago, but don't remember anything like that...took photos of almost everything back there while it was out except that!thx,

Re: Markings on Differential crossmember
Could it be "72" after the SHP? I seem to recall some tank sheets stated L72 instead of L71, for the early '67 435hp cars. Or was it 425hp L71?
I think the "AC" makes sense.
