Hi every one, been a while since I put any thing on this forum but I need some help on how to remove the door glass on my "62". I have removed the front roller channel and the rear slide channel inside the door, and the glass will not come out. Do I need to remove the door post also to get enough room for the front window channel roller to exit the door. I have the window unscrewed from the window regulator also, so it's not that. the window is loose, I can pick it up with my hands and pull it to the top of the door, just can't get it out.

Re: Door glass removal on "62"
You will need to remove the window garnish top moldings as well for clearance at the top. Also the stops moved inwards as needed for clearance. No need to touch the door posts or front or rear channels,
Just remove the slider bar from the track and that's all that is needed to remove the window sash.- Top

Re: Door glass removal on "62"
As of this time I have finally been able to remove both glasses. Thanks for the tip on the window garnish Dan, I saw that it needed to come out to give a little more room for removal. But my biggest problem with that was that the glass would not go down enough to get to the front speed nut on the garnish. I finally figured out that if I raised the glass about half way up then clamped it in place, I could put my arm and hand in behind the glass and get to the nut with a small wrench and loosen the nut. Then I was able to remove the glass with some twisting and pulling. While I am on this subject, I would like to know why GM thought it would be a good idea to put a bolt for the door post behind a fiber glass panel that has to be drilled out in order to get to the bolt. Why couldn't they just put a plastic plug in there to cover the plug.- Top
