I think today’s Bring-A-Trailer sale of a red L84 SWC may be the all time record for sale of a ‘63 non-Z06 Corvette: $341,000 (and change) Holy Cow!!!!

One must remember that we have close to 10% inflation now; starting to greatly influence
everything INCLUDING OLD CLASSIC CARS as seen in the recent Mecum Kissimmee Auction.

John, I think it depends on the which insurer you choose. Hagerty, I know, asks you to assign a value and has never questioned anyone I know on their, sometimes very large, assigned value. I’m thinking of significantly increasing some of those assigned values of my cars now that inflation has apparently hit the market for high level C2 cars. If I had a ‘63 coupe right now, I’d be upgrading the insurance by a factor of two.- Top

Good tip, my '63 Z06 tanker must have really increased in value since I set the value 3 years ago.Big Tanks In the High Mountains of New Mexico- Top

FWIW> NADA Car Values has had an adjustment. (Would guess due to Inflation) EG.>Now a #1 Condition(Top Flight NCRS)
66 Coupe with Base Engine 4 Speed has approached 90K. BTW Chevrolet Pick Up Trucks have matched or beat C2 Corvettes
percentage wise. LarryLarry

Was not available with 340 or 360 but any garage can change the Oil Pan to a 300HP one! Go figure!

Re: Bring A trailer Sale of 63 SWC
Keep in mind here that ‘63 was a nicely restored, original engine red/black L84 coupe that Gary Bennet had detailed. Probably one of the highest value non-Z06 1963 cars out there. It’s only flaw was a lack of history. Still, that’s a lot more money than I ever imagined it’d go for. Plus it was BAT, where things have been nuts lately.
The car that’s even more of a shock is the Mecum one that Michael Johnson mentioned. $330,000 for a 340 coupe, with no awards, no history, no comments on condition before restoration, and a power steering option that it couldn’t have come from the factory with, if the engine HP is correct. Wow.- Top
