GM Set To Crush 122 C8 Corvettes Damaged In Tornado

    Wow what a shame!

When you’re a corporation the size of GM, there’s never going to be a short line of folks who will disagree with your decisions.

I read in the online news that they have already been crushed.

That and anything else they could possibly do would be cost prohibitive - part out, never- labor cost would be off the chart. Then there are legal implications of selling parts that were removed from a salvaged vehicle.

The cars were likely not insured, so they are a tax-deductible casualty loss, and I can understand why GM would NOT want parts from these cars to get into the public domain due to legal liability issues as previously mentioned.

The biggest problem with the EV-1 was that the practical range on a charge was 80 miles at best and maybe only half that in mountainous terrain.

Chevrolet originally planned to build 5000 Cosworth Vegas, but by the end of '76 production, including '75 models only 3500 had been built with many unsold on dealer lots, so it was cancelled for '77.

Tonawanda had already built 5000 engines, so the story was, that I believe to be true is that GM disassembled 500 for parts and the remaining remaining thousand or so engines were scrapped for the tax deduction.
