1956 Harness Bulkhead Connector

Has anyone seen this type of harness plug configuration on a '56? The circuits include the forward lamps. Normally the harness passes through a grommet in the firewall. This is in the same position.

I've not seen this arrangement before and wondering if anyone else has. Photos from a late vin project car with unknown history, but the body is comprised of a front clip of one car and the rear clip from another. I suspect that the front clip may be from a early car.

Rich, I know that full size cars use that set up. My dad's (now my son's) 58 Impala has that same plug.

Looks like maybe a previous owner used some harnesses from passenger cars.

David may be on to something. post a photo of the fuse panel----the 55-7 pass panels are much larger than the 56-7 fuse panels. mike

Thanks Joe & Dave. Had a feeling it was maybe a passenger car. They must have had a bad harness and found that one to make it work.

Mike, Good catch. Here's the photo he had of the fuse panel. It's different from the Corvette .
