    Midyear Headlight Buckets

Any opinions on the aftermarket headlight buckets. Do they fit as originals? I need both left and right and have been trying to source originals to no avail. What, all Corvettes hit in the front? Lol.

As far as sourcing originals, did you try David Sokolowski in California?
He advertises heavily in the Driveline and has tons of original parts...
    thx,

Michael:I have looked at a lot the C2 Buckets and Bucket openings for long time; have plenty of pictures and have called people
on this. JMHO>I have found that the buckets are more or less consistent on the width but the openings are not. The Passenger
Side on the C2's openings at times of production are a hair wider then the Drivers Side. See picture below. Never could get
this confirmed by any of the judges. I've seen plenty of these and know that they could not have all been replaced due to a accident. Larry

        What year C2 ?
The 63s were unique in their use of fiberglass headlight buckets for one year only.
There are some 65 buckets on eBay right now but yes, give David S. a call.

And yes, most all C2 Corvette wrecks were front-enders...
My wreck was a front ender..

Thanks for the responses. Mine is a '64 and kinda hot rodded so it won't see any judging. The headlights were changed prior to my ownership to fixed. So, I'm wondering if the reproductions are good enough for my purpose. I've sourced most everything from an NCRS member here that is GM NOS and got the bezels from David S, he doesn't have the buckets.

Most of the ebay stuff is '63 but there are a couple on there I'll look closer at, thanks Frank for the ebay suggestion.

According to these folks the repop buckets are rough and require a LOT of work to look and work decently:

I don't know all those posters but I DO know 65 Pro Vette and his threshold for quality - his critique is good enough for me...

You can purchase Headlight buckets and all the parts from Melrose at 1 815 758-2783. All the parts are made in the US, probably from the original supplier to GM.
