Re: c-1 rebound strap rivets
Jay-Cee Sales & Rivet, Inc. (link below) were the folks I purchased the semi-tubular rivets I sent out
with my Mongoose riveting tool. I insisted that the tool purchaser measure the thickness of their
straps and rivet plates. "Correct" clinching of the rivet can only be accomplished if the total thickness of materials
to be fastened is known and taken into account. I supplied the rivets in the length required for each individual
application. During the era 1970-90's, at least 4 different thickness straps were being marketed/available.
If my recall is accurate I believe the rivet plates were usually approximately 1/8" thick.
Straps available in those days were (GM parts dept.-.110" used with 7/16" L rivet) (NOS GM. .175"-185" used with 9/16"L rivets) - (C-Central, .220" used with 5/8"L rivets)
(Unknown supplier. .200" used with 19/32"L rivets).
Are you certain you require an 11/16" length rivet ?.... The company catalog makes it easy to figure out what you will need and the stock is amazing, They are great people to work with, even on small orders!..... Cheers

Re: c-1 rebound strap rivets
You're welcome Rick,...
I should mention another important detail I forgot to include in my previous post.
In trying to ascertain the correct rivet length for your application, don't forget to include
some allowance for the "crush/compressibility" of the strap itself. This might seem like
overkill but the precision of the measurements in total will determine the final
clinched appearance and strength of the assembly. Best of luck with your project!- Top
