Thanks, Joe...something new to worry about - and I never heard of an Air Tag.
    So, I googled it...

Here's what Apple says about it and "unwanted tracking" on or in your stuff...

So, I guess the lesson here is park your valuable cars in your garage and if you hear them singing a tune, go investigate...
All gibberish to me - I still have my clamshell cell phone (only one I've ever owned). I call it my "DumbPhone"
    thx,
    Mark

Looks like a new iPhone 13 PRO needed under your Christmas tree!

        Dave,
Yeah, but then I'd have to learn how to text!
I only recently had my phone enabled to receive texts (my work now won't let me get into my company's site w/o text code double secret probation verification and my wife was getting pretty aggravated at having to run upstairs [or YELL!] the code numbers)...
I know my luddite days are numbered...Verizon keeps threatening to cut me off...guess I'll address the issue when my old buddy (the LG) stops working

        Happy Holidays!
        thx,
        Mark

A friend had his 62 stolen at a car event outing right in front of attendees eating at an outdoor restaurant.
A no-tech theft, just "old school" joy riders.

You can drive yourself bat crazy worrying about all of these scenarios.
Have good insurance, take decent precautions and enjoy your car.

Why not install the air-tags in our cars so we can track if stolen?

                  Well Bob,
Maybe we can turn the tables on the thieves. They have long used our tech, now I think we all should have one!

Not yet, but it does have a leather case with a belt loop!

I got a "4 pack" of Air Tags yesterday for Xmans - I have NO idea what I'll use
them for; maybe I'll get more ideas after I read the instructions...
Mabye put one on the wife when she eludes me for hours in Bed, Bath & Beyond stores.

As an aside, a very good friend has his expensive Silverado truck stolen from his
home about 12 miles from my house and authorities immediately tracked the vehicle using his windshield
"Sun pass" used to collect pay tolls as it passed various automated collection spots on Florida highways
(including some pictures of the truck). It led them to an apartment complex just off an
interstate exit where the truck was found.

FYI - Apple Air Tags have a Bluetooth distance limitation of 30 ft.

GPS trackers work best and there are some available without a recurring monthly fee. GPS generally require a battery power source. Batteries have a limited charge life and need to be recharged or replaced.
