Any recommendations as to who would be the "go to" person for a 111196 Distributor (L79 327/350 HP) sales & service rebuilding etc.

Mine was done by Jerry MacNeish (?) and it was cosmetically and mechanically perfect. Look up z28camaro.com

You could also try Don Baker. He's John DeGregory's buddy and go to guy for distributors.

He has done two for us in the last year.

Note that I believe he may be down south, so call him and see if he's away for a while or not.

Forgot to ask would he also have a 1111196 in stock, somehow the car I'm working on ended up with a 1110985 for a 63 340. I want it replaced with the correct 196

He could make yours into a 196; you'd just have to order the right tag for it.

Or if you can change a light bulb you can probably do it yourself if you have a CSM and COM.

Men,
I had a great talk with Don Baker last night. WHAT A SUPER NICE GUY !
Anyways, apparently the 985 I have was a 62 HP Dual point without a Vac can & Don said there is a oil lube hole on the side of it ( which there is) so to doctor that one up would not work.Also he's headed South to see family soon & will not be doing rebuilds for 3 months.

Bottom line is I'll have to replace the 985 & find a real 196. If anyone knows where I can find one, please advise.

I'll just have to sit tight & have Don do a new one for me in the Spring.
