Re: 1973 l48 pcv
One more question. AIM calls for PCV 6487530 which is CV769C. Is that correct for 73 L48? If so am I safe to buy an old stock one on Ebay? Doug- Top

Re: 1973 l48 pcv
Jimmy------
Parts from the old GM AC Division usually have different GM part numbers depending on whether destined for SERVICE or PRODUCTION. The AC part number (e.g. CV769C and usually embossed on the part) is the same and the SERVICE and PRODUCTION parts are virtually always identical but the GM "long numbers" are almost always different. So, in the vast majority of AC-supplied components one cannot use the part numbers in the AIM to determine the correct SERVICE part number. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Re: 1973 l48 pcv
Doug------
Keep in mind that the CV 769C PCV valve has been available from GM for nearly 50 years, right up to the present day. All are equally functional. However, there have been nuances of configuration differences over the years and, especially, since AC ceased to be a GM manufacturing division and part manufacture was outsourced. So, if you are interested in exact original configuration you need to obtain an NOS CV769C that was manufactured 50 or so years ago. That can get difficult and expensive. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top
