Re: '67 Help with authentication - two cars
Leif,
You have some good input here so far. If it helps you and your friend, I will share that I owned a very nice '67 Coupe approximately 5 years ago that was very well disguised, and by the price I bought it for (between $50k - $100k) I planned on the fact that was a re-stamped 435hp car. It was beautifully restored and a nice driver. I sold it basically for what I had invested in it a few years later. A friend of mine just bought a similar '67 Coupe to what I am describing knowing it had a NOM 435 engine. It supposedly (I have not seen it) has a correct code non-matching number Corvette engine. I have only seen pictures, but it looks like a very nice driver for $85k from a private owner of 20+ years. This may help you and your friend determine the market and direction for these cars?
Best of luck,
Eric Patty
