Pull carpet away from the dimmer switch, remove two screws holding switch to floor, disconnect electrical connector. Reverse procedure to install.
    About a 15 minute job.

        Terry,
Your original post asked about the dimmer switch. I assumed, by your verbiage, that you were referring to the floor dimmer switch. With your new post, you can disregard the information I gave you.
To remove the dash headlight switch that turns on your lights, there is a small, spring loaded button on the bottom of the switch behind the dash. Push that button in while pulling on the switch knob to remove the rod and knob. You will then see a special nut holding the switch in place. You can use a pair of needle nose pliers to remove that nut. Push the switch through the dash. Remove the wiring harness. Reinstall is a reverse process.

Follow Lief's instructions but I suggest you disconnect the battery first.
