Two new Electrical issues with my 1972 L48 Auto w/air conditioning

While driving the car the other day - two things just stopped working at the same time. The wipers and the Radio/TCS fuse blocks.

There are some good videos out there on youtube but still nothing so I am looking for some our NCRS experts out there who might offer me some of your thoughts:

    1) Wipers - No power on either side of the fuse block - fuse is not blown - tested it with multimeter. Tested the Red wire at the wiper motor - still has power full time. Tested the wiper door switch, it has power. Tested the override switch, it is good. I tested the wiper switch - no power. Tested the wiper switch with a multimeter it still works. No power to the switch - did not go to the wiper relay yet, but the heater blower motor works perfectly and the AC powers on and off with no issues. The AC is original to the car. - What else can I check.

    2) the Radio/TCS fuse block and BAT terminal - no power on either side of the fuse block. I have a new idle solenoid, tested it with a spare battery and it works. I have the TCS on the distributor line and it works off the car. I have no radio (that's the easiest circuit in the car probably!) I have collected NOS TCS relays that go under the dash and I removed the existing one and replaced it with another TCS relay - but no power to the fuse block. I tried everything i can think of - Any ideas?

By the way, all of this happened right after i installed a new automatic transmission lockout cable because the original one was missing - so is there a link?

Thanks for all of your always helpful advice that perhaps I can attempt on Turkey day this year........

The first thing I would check is the ground from the wiper motor. If it is like my 69, the ground is at the starter. I had a similar issue many years ago and the wipers would work only with a door or the hood was open. I found that the ground was broken at the starter and the wipers were grounding through the alarm system since that ground is piggybacked to the wiper ground attachment on the wiper motor. Just a thought.

Thanks for your reply, I will recheck the grounds.
