Mike - So the "service" or NOS Hood Surround Panels were made in a different mold?
    Thanks

That would be good. I think I will be taking my entire tanker collection to the MCACN next year in Chicago.

                Re: C2 paint "dimple"

Hmmmm, I wonder if they have a display for previous Triple Diamond winners? I could bring it to Chicago (it’s not far) - after covering it with a roll of temporary protective film, of course. I’d have to avoid stone-chip heaven, the stretch of I94 south of Lake Michigan, by taking the Badger car ferry across the big lake…

The car is also likely to be at one of next year’s early regionals for PV, not sure which one (or two) yet.

Unfortunately, that re-painted all-original fiberglass car lost its Dot to vigorous sanding in the restoration. Hope they don’t add DOT inspection to Nationals judging this year.

Mike, locate the exact location where it should be. Put a small scratch at that position. Mix resin and hardener and put one drop at that position to match the size of the dimple. When hardened, touch up paint. You car will again have acne.

Well this one has been through a regional and the national this year in Palm Springs, and with a 98+, it won't be going back for any more judging.

Its not a ejector pin. They would be round circles left by the pin that pushes the part off the mold. Dose not appear that there is any ejector system on that mold.

Two of my cars (a 65 and 66) have the Dot. Both appear to be the same shape, but not circular, more oval. Probably difficult to duplicate. I’d probably just mess up the paint. I’ll leave it alone.

Then again, 3-D printing is an option…
