One more tidbit. I retrieved the original bolts and nutplates that came on my ‘66 and I found the bolts to be 1 3/4” long, TR headmark, Gr. 8, zinc plated. Which matches up exactly with the 454976 bolt called out in the 63-65 AIMs. But it does not agree with bolt 454975 called out in the ‘66 AIM. Since my ‘66 has a late July ‘66 build date, it suggests the inventory of 63-65 bolts was indeed large enough so as to last thru the entire ‘66 model year.

      Gary,
Even in 1966 a buyer would not purchase the entire years production for such a common part.
More likely is that something got changed a long time ago and or there is a missing piece within what the standard part callouts are and the 8 or 9 revisions you mentioned in the AIM. There are missing pieces to the puzzle.

        Ronald,

I agree. Missing pieces probably never to be found.
