1965 factory air - replacing clutch

Trying to replace the factory A/C clutch. Got the small bolt off but clutch won't come off. Bought pully remover but hooks are too fat to hook up anywhere. Sprayed with WD-40. Is there another item (bolt or spring washer) that needs to come off? Can't find diagram.

    Any tricks or help appreciated.

OK, cleaned area and found a split ring holding it on. Now need to find a way to get it off. Hard to do with reverse image in a mirror and limited access.

A6 clutch requires a special puller for removal. There is another tool to re-install. The factory service manual shows these tools as well as the procedures for removal and re-installation.

The tools can be purchased on Ebay using the Kent-Moore part numbers, or reproductions of these tools are also available new for a lessor price. AutoZone may even have them as "loaners".

Send it to Dom Tallarita, he restored mine, looks like brand new.

Listen to Larry, he knows. Also the clip around the washer can stay on when using the CLUTCH remover. Sounds like you were removing the pulley.
Frank, what's wrong with the clutch?

Thanks for replies. A/C make loud shriek when engaged. Was going to try replacing clutch before going further. Decided to have mechanic replace with Pro6Ten and keep the original.
