    C2 ('65) Air Conditioning Compressor on a 350 block?

Does anyone know if the C2 ('65) air conditioning compressor mounts for a 327 block, will they mount to a 350 engine block? The air conditioning compressor pump was remove from my '65 from the previous owner many years ago. I have a 350 engine in my '65 and looking to understand if the air condition compressor pump mounts will bolt to the 350 engine block?

Thanks for any insights you could provide.

Tony, the 350 engine block should present no problems as all attachment points should be the same as the original 327. However, I believe the AC compressor and brackets attach to the exhaust manifold, intake manifold, and maybe the water pump, so those components will need to be configured as original 65. I suspect exhaust manifold and water pump would be most important. Chip.

Tony, another thing to keep in mind is the water pump on the 350 may have a longer snout and off set bolt locations on water pump, the pulley set up may not work with the 65 configuration?? I have not done this before, but I would tend to stay with all the 350 later style set up components.(pulleys w/pump, exhaust manifold, brackets etc.).I have a 72 air car if you need pics.

I jumped to the conclusion that we were speaking only to engine block configuration. Before much more advice is given, we really need to know how many 65 components, if any, are present and if the 350 block has later model heads also. If the heads have accessory mounting bosses on them, you will have the option of using a later model set up.

Thanks everyone for the insights! I'm humbled by the great amount of information shared and very grateful for this site.

I'm using the stock 327 exhaust manifolds and can use the stock water pump from the original '65 327 block. The intake manifold is not the stock factory one.

Would love if someone could share a photo of the brackets in place without the compressor to see how they mount to the block / exhaust manifold?

          Thanks!

Tony, there may be a problem with 350 harmonic balancer the thickness of it, this changes all the pulley alignments. And is something you may not want to change. If you have a low horsepower engine it may be thinner balancer,if you have SHP engine it maybe close to the same but it’s a exact science so swapping things around will only cause you grief. I would tend to stay with 350 components. And that would mean 350 exh. Manifolds.sounds like you will need a doner car or the complete A/C. Set up.

              Hi Tony:

There is nothing about the 350 block that affects the '65 A/C mounting arrangement. The mounting points are to the water pump and the exhaust manifold. If you have the original A/C brackets, water pump, and exhaust manifold, everything will will bolt up just fine.
