I've purchased used, vinyl-covered, interior rear quarter panels that will belong behind each seat in my "69.
These pieces look perfect, but they sat in a barn for 30 years collecting dust, condensation, dust, condensation, and repeated for 30 years here in Pa..
The vinyl covering is blue, but the dirt that it has collected over the years has hardened on the surface as if the vinyl has been painted brown.
I've soaked both panels overnight in water with some dawn liquid. Using the rough side of a scotchbrite pad, the dirt barely comes off with a lot of rubbing.
My question is to what I should try next, and after that if that doesn't work, and so on.
What method(s) have you guys had success with at cleaning the vinyl covering on this part, or any other part that has vinyl covering glued to it.
Thanks much.
