Need a afb carb expert on the numbers, Dom

I bought a restored 78 Chysler. Every thing was done and it was my friends.
Trouble is that when they new engine in they changed it from a 2 to a 4 carb. My friend is a smog guy and said to leave the keys. Went back and he said the new Edelbrock was WAY to rich. I told hom I would re-jet it, and he said a Edelbrock NEVER passed smog.
So I went to my shelves to get a Q-jet and adapter and found 3 AFB's to replace the new Edelbrock.
    Here are the numbers:
#1 3856S and has a choke of manifold heat spring choke.
    #2 3351S with a AL1 underv the #'s and has a exhaust manifold choke.
#3 G7 4401S with a secondary flap and a manifold heat spring choke.
Any help on what I have would be great as I have to rebuild 1 and rid the Edelbrock.

    Dom

If I do not respond, I will later as I am going to the shop.

    3856 shows Chrysler 1965 383 Auto Trans
3351 Not sure about 3351 but 3361 is a 1962 Chevy 409 carb. The AL1 is date code for Nov 61 A is series. Usually A,B or C

      Greg,
Thanks a whole bunch. Had these on the shelf for mega years and now will have to build one for a 318 Labaron.

The engine ran too rich and know amount of adjustment seemed to help. I contacted Mike’s Carburetor and ordered new jets and it made a big improvement in the engine. Bob,
Exactly what I told the smog guy and he said NO, as long as it's a Edelbrok it won't pass! That's crazy.
The engine in my 78 is a 318 and it had a 2 barrel on it. when the car was restored they did the Edelbrok and carb.
The smog guy is somewhat of a friend because we sent him many cars and he was part owner in a airplane near ours. He said a afb would pass jetted correctly. I won't rebuild until I talk to him.
          I just can't see why I cant re-jet it?
