Project was getting original clock to operate. Eventually got things working (points had metal transfer and corrosion) but the question of electric magnetic rewind clocks being self correcting came to mind. Long, long ago most auto clocks would correct themselves, and all one had to do was set the clock to the correct time for several days. If memory serves me correctly any correction of three minutes or more would make the clock gain or lose time as needed to make it run correctly. Is the C2 clock of this type? Just going over options to get something then more accurate then a loss of 15 minutes per day and know this method used to work. Welcome your comments!

Re: Self correcting clock?
I can't find it in writing, but I believe if you reset the time on your clock by turning the knob so the hands go "CLOCKWISE" the mechanical/electric guts of the clock will speed up the timing. Can't remember by how much, though...
I believe the opposite is true also, if it's running too fast, reset the time by turning the knob so the hands go "COUNTERCLOCKWISE" and the timing will slow down.
I think this is explained in the owner's manual - which I don't have handy access to at this moment..thx,

Re: Self correcting clock?
Had nice talk with the technician at "Instrument Services"(Machesney Park, IL")when I got my clock (66 Vette) done
last spring. Bear in mind these guys do everything including instuments for 747's. He told me that the C2 clocks where
never meant to be super accurate or have built in longevity. SO LET'S NOT" KID OURSELVES". Just get them going to
pass judging is all you can hope for. Of course>JMHO>LarryLarry

Re: Self correcting clock?
Mark, you are SO correct! The clock is equipped with an "automatic regulator" that will slow the clock if you set it back and will speed up the operation if you have to move the clock forward. One must "correct" the time by at least three minutes in order for this feature to initiate. The information was in the Owners Manual in the glove compartment. I should have looked there first! Thanks for the nudge. It occurs to me that about the time this thing gets it groove it will be time for the annual adjustment back to regular time and then the "automatic regulation" will have to start again.- Top
