Post and your observations very interesting. What is your take on muffler blackout visibility AFTER body drop and release of muffler hold-in tool? Re paint runs - blackout paint application method?

great pictures of the 3 i have done i never knew to instal the overflow boot and hose first.

Dave- I'm more into the research side of the hobby... confirming items we may already be aware of, but also pointing out some differences to possibly consider. That said, I personally feel that GM assembly line images are a great resource, and hard to dispute. Same for magazine photos from the period... especially when the Corvette was taken from dealer stock (ie: not a prototype). For example: How can one now question the early 66 usage of engine ID tags on the HEAD, instead of the valve cover?

Addressing your muffler inquiry, I've zoomed into the lower/left side of the photo... where we see the completed body drop of the hardtop convertible. Not the clearest image, but the best I could do.
