    1973 belts

First I apologize as I don't have the AIM yet, just bought car. 1973 L48 with ps but no air conditioning. Currently has three belts. AIR, PS, and Alternator. The crank has a small third pulley not being used, is that there if it had air conditioning? It is not an air condition car.

I ask as I intend to order belts tomorrow from Quanta.

Car trim tag is D13 for November 13, 1972. Vin sequence is 7309. Would that be considered 4 th. quarter for belt dates?

    Thanks, Doug

    Doug,
I have a 73 L48 with N40 and no C60. Really not sure why you have the third crank pulley since your car doesn't have AC. That pulley would be used on a C60 and N40 equipped car. Here are a couple photos from the 73 AIM showing the two different belt orientations. I added a photo of my crank pulley for you to see as well. Hope these help.
Quanta should tell you which quarter you'll need once you give them your build date.
Nice to hear you decided on a 73.
Oh BTW...you might want to invest in the latest 73-74 TIM&JG ( if you haven't already done so) to help you along the way. It's a great reference for both the owner and restorer.
Can be purchased in the NCRS store!

Thanks so much Jimmy. Mine is a very well restored car, not sure why the third crank pulley. Have had a number of Corvettes and i really like the 73. One year only car. L48, convertible, 4 speed, PS, PB, P02, shoulder belts. Medium blue with midnight blue interior.

Beautiful car Doug! Thanks for posting a pic. Love those PO2's, and do I see you still have the starting instructions attached to your visor?
Does it have a white soft top?

Yes, white top. I guess like you I really like the chrome bumper rear and the urethane bumper and the cowl hood. Thanks again for your help.
