1969 Front Support Rod Lower Bolt
Does anyone know the specs on part# 122040. The bolt that holds the support rod to the lower part of the radiator support. For the upper bolt I have a 5/16-24X1/2 Grade 5 A headmark and the lower bolt was a 5/16-18X1 that barely made it to the end of the pad on the rod when the lock washer was installed. It was grade 5 TR headmark. The AIM shows a lock washer in both locations, I took this apart a while ago and cant remember if there was a lock washer there. Any help would be appreciated.

#122040 is 5/16-18 x 1 1/2 zinc GM 260-M class 2A thread -

Are you sure it is 260-M that is grade 2 steel. I would think grade 5 would be used since it supports the front of the nose and the bolt at the other end of the rod is definitely grade 5 (280-M)Comment

Per your request, double checked spec. for 122040. It is 260-M grade per GM Standards.Comment
