    66 Distributor rebuild

I am currently rebuilding my tach drive distributor for my 66 L79 restoration. The main shaft and tach drive gears were toast, so I have purchased replacement parts and have the following question.

How does the tach drive gear button figure in? In reading rebuild resources a nylon bushing is talked about. Mine had nothing when I disassembled. With the new tach drive assembly, do I need the brass button?

    Thanks, Tim

    Re: 66 Distributor rebuild

u definitely need to install the nylon bushing if u want the new gears to live. I believe there was an article in the restorer years ago. u have to drill a very superficial hole in the distributor housing to accept the bushing. I can't remember the 2 sizes of the drill bits needed to sink the bushing accommodating hole. good luck. mike
