    Headlight Housing Bearings

I've removed the left side headlight assembly. The two side bearings have a lot of "wobble." When last in operation there was no issues operating the headlights - snapped up and down properly and no (excessive) vibration when driving with lights up. Should the bearings be replaced? They're cheap and I read on this forum that the inner workings can be removed from the new steel housing and installed into the old aluminum housing. True? I don't plan to have the car judged so is it work the effort? I just hate the wait time for the new parts.

Edit: Should the bearing housings be painted, black out or natural aluminum?

    Thanks,
    Mike
