    Questions 58 Corvette

    Hi
    I've been looking at a 58 Corvette and I need some help.
    The number on the engine pad is F521D G, What is meant by F521?
    I guess DG means 283ci, 230hp, at.The car has an automatic transmission, Powerglide.
    The car was built in June.
    Where can I find the vin number in the car?

      Orjan,

      The VIN number is located in two places. The first is on a aluminum tag screwed onto the drivers side front door jam. The second is stamped on the frame located about the middle of the drivers side door opening. Do a search on this forum and you will find photos of both. There are also excellent examples in various publications including Noland Adam's Restoration and Technical Guide Volume 1.

          F521 is Flint, Michigan, assembled May 21, 1958. Probably vin number between 7489 and 8192 built in June 1958.
          The car was built in June.
