    1972 replacement headlight

Understanding that finding period correct OEM replacement headlights for our 72 are few and far between. What would be a replacement lamp that will receive this fewest originality deduct points?

    Fred,
When I get home later this afternoon/evening, I'll check my stash. I think I may have a set of four that are correct for your '72. They were on my '67 when I bought it years ago (and functioning fine). I replaced them with a correct set for my model year. If I remember correctly, they are non-DOT, as well.

Leif, that would be great. My son and I just finished a body off restoration on our #'s matching 72 LT1 convertible ac car. We're entered in the SoCal chapter judging event (10/15/21) and trying to fine tune what we can before. Fred

        Fred,
I checked the four bulbs that I have (two low beam, two high beam) and I believe they're for a '68-'71 model. Picture below.

        Note: No DOT marking

Hi Leif, would you consider selling those?

Hi Don, Thanks for your reply. I believe I saw an earlier discussion with you participated in regarding OEM correct 72 headlights. I have received some leads on correct lamps for our 72 LT1.

These are also referred to as "Power Beam" lamps. See that designation around the bottom of the bulb in Don's image.

Actually, Terry, the bulb pictured in my posted photo says SEALED BEAM. As I shared earlier, I think the POWER BEAM began in 1973 (?)

Right you are Don. It was right in front of me and I read something else.
