    1962 Tach noise

    My 1962 tachometer has a rattle noise and a very slight needle bounce up to about 1K RPM's. The noise seems to go away over 1K RPM's. I removed the cable and lubricated with Kable Ease, but the noise is still there.
    I would check the length of the cable, and the length from the upper end to the collar, if I had the measurements. Any suggestions are appreciated.

      Those symptoms likely point to the lubrication on the speed cup and internal mechanism of the tach being dry. No easy solution for that. Removal of the tach from the cluster is necessary.
