    peculiar 107 coil

anybody seen a 107 coil with a BROWN BAKELITE tower? this coil is not a china repo(studs magnetic) nor has it been sleeved with a copper can like was available in the 80's and 90's. . it also lacks the pair of tower protrusions that Delco began using in about 1963. mike mccagh

That is a new one Doc.
Here's what I learned about the 107 Coil many years ago. It was not/is not unique to a Corvette.
It's apart that was on heavy equipment, school buses, et in the 50's and '60's. So Corvette borrowed the part.

At Corvette Carlisle a customer came to see me to show me the 107 coil he snagged at the show. He was so excited as he should have been as its the hardest part to find on a car. John

Doc,I have two early '091s that are embossed on the bottom.
A later NOS 091 is also embossed toward the bottom.
Dale Pearman used to collect 107's. That was his passion in old days. I remember seeing him at a Corvette Expo at Knoxville going past my trailer and swinging the 107 back in forth as he walked I called old to him.
"Hey old man want to make a $100 on that 107 you just bought?)
He came back to trailer and answered my question. Can't print it.
So I said Dale can I just hold the coil and look at it. I only ever owned one of them. John
