TI distributor for my 69 L71

I have been in contact with a PO of my Oct 3 68 build 69 L71. This PO took off the TI distributor and 263 coil years ago. He had misplaced it and recently found/shipped to me. What I received was a very nice original condition 1111296 distributor and nice condition 263 coil with the original sticker. What was surprising was the distributor part number and 7 J 11 date code on the distributor. Seems too early for my car? Perhaps was changed prior to PO removing it or a leftover that was used in my car? Both of these parts are in the condition of a low 20k mile car. Car now has 26k miles thought to be close to accurate? Is this distributor just too early for my car or is this leftover theory hold any water?

    Thanks

Is the PO the original owner?

Guard that coil well, and if you decide to liberate it I would be happy to have it.

No he is not the original owner, third owner.

I am going to put that coil in the car and inventory the existing but not correct TI coil.

I will likely just run the restored TI distributor that is in the car since it runs just fine.

Is a distributor band correct for an early 68 car, and a white band correct for an early 69 car?

About the color of the band: I have my opinion and others have theirs. I don't think the color matters, but some believe otherwise. Hang in there and I am sure they will speak up.

IMG_0568.jpg1969 L89, Late October 1968 build, 37k miles, this Distributor has a 296 with a date of 8 D 29, Seems to be a wee bit early. I would be curious what others have?
