The rod I have is 10 1/4 inches from centerline of the hole on one end to centerline of the opposite end that goes through the clutch cross shaft hole (z-bar). Do I have the correct rod as far as length? Thank you, Jack J.

Re: 1964 clutch fork push rod
Jack...My clutch cross shaft (Z bar) broke about a month ago at a weld on one of the arms. I went thru the entire linkage system and the clutch fork pushrod for your 64 is supposed to be 10 9/16 inches. Part number is 3844209. Mine measured correctly so I just had to replace the Z bar. While I'm in no way an expert on on researching part numbers I think this is correct. Good luck.

You have the correct rod. GM specifies the rod as 10-9/16" but that is measured end-to-end.In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

I've not actually measured one. Sometimes, though, the published GM end-to-end spec is somewhat different than actual. I don't know why.
However, no other Corvette fork push rod was in the 10"+ range. So, you pretty much have to have the right one. In addition, most other GM clutch fork pushrods were of a different overall configuration. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top
