Re: 63/65 Chrome fuel filter bracket

There is a logo on the original 63 fuel filter bracket. I don't know if its on the '64-'65 bracket but I am sure I will get a not from a couple of gurus that are no longer on the DB but are still watching it.
Unseen logo as I believe its on the bottom side. I will have to go thru my stash. LOGO is the initials I T M. Used on some '63's and hap hazardly thru '65 according to Robert Jorjorian. Once in a while I see a rusty ITM fuel filter bracket come in the door.
Meanwhile the NOS ones that have a very crude plating and are NOT perfectly round are not correct. I have one on my 63 but its not right.
All the brackets that came down the St. Louis assembly line had a nice smooth chrome finish. Yes the screw is a self taping thread.
I used to think all of those screws had a blunt end to them but I think others think the end could be pointy or blunt?
One more item. The "tongue" sticking out on the 63 bracket that has the hold in it for the adapter stud is shorter in length than the later fuel filter brackets. John

Re: 63/65 Chrome fuel filter bracket

Correction to my response to the post. The ITM logo was only used in some of the '63 fuel filter brackets. Not used later.
I do not have one here as I recall using it on a '63 unit I sold.
To repeat info on the NOS ones. Easily spotted as the metal used was very crude. Course grain to it. And the shape of the part is not even close. It's not round. The early '63 fuel filter brackets are cadmium plated. John

Thanks every one for the input, John do you recall if the self tapping screw was a zinc screw?

Ed, Believe the early 63 (till Jan 63) were zinc then they became chrome. Pointed screw!

Attached is a photo of my Fuel Filter Bracket. As John stated is is in fact an ITM stamp and not ITI as I mentioned earlier. This bracket is Cad plated and is on my April 10, 1963 300 HP car. Car is restored so I cannot say for sure that it is the original bracket. It has the pointed tip on the screw.

Dave, Very nice photo. Your bracket is unique as I haven't seen any that were stamped on top. Also that's the real deal stud with the circle and the correct SAE flat washer. Remember for many years "we" used to think the washer was an outside star one but with the help of Alan Drake, Michael Hanson and others that the flat washer is correct. Anyone want that washer for free just ask.
I used to think the self tapping screw was supposed to be a blunt end only but that's not correct.
On the chrome bracket I believe the screw is chrome. John
