Bloomington Gold certification of a teak wheek

I looked at a teak wheel at Carlisle that had a blue band around it were the seller claimed in 2005 it was certified at Bloomington Gold. Since I never been there do they do that for parts? I am well aware of them judging cars. Can that number on the band be traced back to the judge who looked at it?

I used to judge at Bloomington, but never certified parts. Maybe some long time Bloomington judges can speak to that.

I've been attending since 1988, judging there for a dozen years or so, and never heard of this.
Sounds to me like the seller is trying to pull a fast one, or has no concept of BG.

Maybe it was on a car that was Bloomington Gold Certified. He removed it and thinks all parts must be certified since the car was?

Here is the picture. I had a well known collector of teak wheels look at it and he is sure it’s original. I’m not just sure of the story

If it is a real teak wheel, and I agree it looks like it is, who cares about the story, unless he is asking astronomical money on the basis of the story.

We got it for a good price. I was just seeing if the story had any merit. I didn’t think it did. But I never been to Bloomington Thanks for all the help.

Some of the best prizes are at the bottom of the snake pit So grab your mongoose and go for it. This story has no effect on the decision of buying the part The wheel spoke for it self and the other people I trust backed it up.
