    Power steering leak C2

I have an an "add-on" power steering system on my 1965 roadster since I purchased the vehicle about 18 years ago. It seems to work fine, but I have had intermittent leaks for a while. Im not sure what vendor it originated from.

2 questions: Where is the leak most likely to be occurring ? I cannot tell much in viewing the area of the cylinder.

Is it worth the trouble to try to find the leak and disassemble/reassemble? I don't have a great desire to do that if it

makes more sense to just replace the system, which is 18 years old.

    As usual, all input appreciated.

    John,
I would wipe down the entire control valve, power steering pump, piston and lines. Clean thoroughly with brake cleaner and dry completely. You can then dust all those areas with baby powder, start the car and have someone inside slowly turn the steering wheel from left to right while you're observing the power steering components. The leaks will show readily. Understand, that all these units seep a little bit and, over time, they all start to leak. Pretty easy to identify where the problem lies and then you can make a determination as to rebuild components and/or replace lines.
