    '65 Carpet Color

Recently removed carpet from my '65 Corvette coupe (shown in attached pic) and am told, by individuals who removed it that they believe it is the original color. Conclusion is based on their prior experiences with one having restored prior corvettes.

However, the carpet vendor states what they have sent is an accurate reproduction and what was in my car is from '67.

Would appreciate comments from someone who knows the correct carpet color.

I bought the car from the original owner in Oct of '66 and I never changed any of the interior out.
Apologize for not including pic on original post.

      Lawrence,

I've attached some pictures of a 26k mile unrestored NCRS Duntov 1965 coupe with a tan interior as reference. Hope these help.

        James,
I know lighting impacts the coloring but am I correct that it appears there are multiple saddle shades/colors in your '65?
The carpeting from the vendor contains what I believe is a yellow cast. Does your's contain one?

By the way, the carpeting looks great!

The last photo posted above appears to show 2 different color carpets - -

The carpet at the top of the photo appears to be close to the same color as the reproduction carpet whereas the carpet on the right side of the photo appears to be the same color as your original carpet piece.

How close is the new piece to the area on your original that was under the trim? IMHO It looks closer to the reproduction carpet color, however the binding still looks a shade or two off.

I agree with your assessment. I've been told that the color to the right of your last photo is from 1967 as that was the color then.
Coloring of carpet in 1st photo appears a bit darker than the lightest of my two carpets.
Will have to show this to my buddy who is restoring my car with me.
              Few of questions ...
              1. What color are the seats
              2. Color of headliner
              3. Color of paint on above door as you leave vette
Will tell you that the car would be dinged on points as some of the body flaws were corrected when my buddy painted the car. He is anal about everything being perfect.
I really appreciate you taking the time to help me
