    63 Left side Exhaust manifold

In regards to the pictures attached, if the choke heat riser holes were filled in, would this manifold be correct for a 63 fuel injected engine?

    Thanks!

Re: 63 Left side Exhaust manifold

The ...942 exhaust manifold casting was used on the left side of '63-'65 FI engines. Since the choke hot air system is on left side of FI engnes this manifold has a provision for a hot air tube that you can see is installed.

The choke system hot air tube on carbureted engines is on the right side manifold.

The 3797902 casting was used on the RH side of FI and some carbureted engine. On FI engines it's not drilled for the hot air tube as it is when used on carbureted engines.

I'm a bit confused, the JM clearly states "Fuel injection manifolds were cast without upper and lower choke heat tube holes". Can you confirm what is correct? Do you have a picture of a FI engine with both manifolds on it for reference?

Todd, the manifold you have is correct for LH FI use, choke hole etc.

So the judging manual is incorrect? I assume the right hand 902 should NOT have a choke tube hole in it, is that correct?

Todd, That Manifold is correct for LH side 63-65 FI cars and for RH side of some 65 & 66 cars. The 63-65 Fuel Injected RH side manifold will not have a choke tube however, it will have a boss on the front for an alternator mount.
