John, that's ok. Right now I have the passenger side up and level but it required a 1/4 shim to fill in the gap between bumper and body. Working on driver's for closeness to glass and level across both bumpers and hoping to install cross piece WITHOUT. any alterations. Jack J.Comment

Jack,
You're right to question measurements, given the source of your bumpers. When I bought my 65 convertible in 1987 it came with four new bumpers from GM still in the boxes. On installation, one of the fronts wouldn't line up with the lower bracket, no matter what I tried. I eventually took it to a bumper shop (try finding one of those nowadays) which had the specs and the tools to straighten it, which they did---and didn't charge me, saying it was 'interesting' to work on a classic Corvette piece...Comment
