I only have a single data point, my experience, but back in the day I remember frequently replacing plugs due to lead build up (not oil fouling) and also having issues with build up on valves. I don't have that problem today.

Mark that's really great news. When I had heads off every day when I worked as a line mechanic the intake valves were all oil fouled from guides. How could you tell? rev it up and the intake valve was so heavy it floated. My 67 only cost me 550.00 totalled. I never had a problem with plugs and I guess I can afford to clean them If they ever get LEAD fouled.
I was a Chevy mechanic since the 50's and never dealt with that. But then again Grandma never drove my cars and the others in the Chevy shop needed valve guide seals. I wanted a vette not one that was changed to a station wagon engine modification of a vette engine.
Lead was in all the old gas and never had a problem till the changed pump gas. NEVER had lead build up back then! I suggest that any build up on the intake and plugs are due to oil consumption and guides.
ALL can down grade the fuel I use, but I a SOOO happy with it... No problems.

The main reason I use the avgas is that’s it’s ethanol free. I don’t need the octane as my motor runs fine on 93. Another reason why like the avgas is the smell of the fuel and exhaust smell....way nicer than 93.

An interesting observation when my motor was on the dyno is that the avgas ran slightly richer than pump gas (14:1 versus 13:1)

I AGREE with STEVE and LARRY. I have been here in Texas for 6 years. and use www.pure=gas.org when needed. Prior years in California always filled my 5 gal cans at the race track with 108 and 112 leaded race fuel. WOW, it added 100hp to my street 57 and 65 Fuel injection cars
