Window stickers for C2s, how many did each car get?

I am curious about C2 window stickers, I know one was attached to the window as the car was completed on the line, but were there other copies like that one, or ones similar to it, that were shipped with the car or to the dealer for their files. I have heard dealers had copies, or similar documents with all the options and costs, etc. Thanks for any insights.

You may be referring to Vehicle Invoice or "Shipper" documents. Document has Dealer, Shipping Dates, RPO, Prices, etc.

Copies are available from GM Media Archives. (Chevrolet 1977 and up)

Thanks guys, yes that is what I was wondering about. I was also wondering about a statement John Hinckley made about window stickers that had all the VIN typed and not a partial stamp for the last digits: "I'd be suspicious of any midyear window sticker as being the original with the VIN fully-typed or in the same font as the dealer identification on the upper portion of the sticker; the last six digits of the car's VIN weren't known at the time the sticker was computer-printed, which is why the last six digits were rubber-stamped when the car got to the end of the Final Line. If the sticker was damaged in transit or the car was traded from one dealer to another, Zone Offices made replacements, and they had the VIN fully-typed." I am also wondering if dealers made replacement WS for customers like that too.

Looks like the first 7 numbers where pre printed if it was a Coupe or convertible and the last 6 #stamp when the Corvette was at the end of final line, these are my original's for my 67 L71 2 NCRS Validated Original Window Sticker.jpg3 NCRS-GM Validated Original Window Sticker and Tank Sticker.jpg

Michael, I was in the auto business for 35 years, when we (the Dealership) purchased cars/trucks from other dealers the original window sticker stayed on the vehicle. We could not get another made with our dealership name on it from our zone office. A good point about NCRS shipping data reports it shows were the car was shipped first, but what happens when you swap out the car to another dealership and they sell it?? Some of these records are not correct.

Good point, I have a car that has a Protect-O-Plate from a dealer that was not the one listed on the shipping data report.

I have 2 cars with POP's from different dealerships than the ones which received the car from St. Louis
