    65 Coupe rear blower

with ign in either ACC or on, I have 3 heater fan speeds. With heater off, no rear blower operation. I am not getting voltage at the brown wire at the motor. Troubleshooting steps?

    Thanks,

    Re: 65 Coupe rear blower

The power to the coupe rear blower comes from the fan switch. When the fan is turned on it removes the power to the rear blower. The exception to that is with factory air the fan turns on low when you engage the AC but power still goes to the rear blower (assuming the fan switch is not on). I think the rear blower power is a brown wire that comes from the fan switch. Don H.

          James,

Are you referring to the rear blower switch? If so, I do not have power to the rear. I now suspect the heater switch which is a relatively new reproduction switch.
          Thanks,
          Dave K.

            Dave,

No, I'm referring to the fan switch in the dash.

I function tested the rear blower motor by running a jumper wire from the 12v power source on the fuse block to the brown power wire that runs between the rear blower motor to the back of the dash fan switch. I did this to verify that the blower motor actually ran. I then narrowed the problem down to it being the dash fan switch. Cleaning the switch contacts at the blower motor is a good idea also.
