    69 L46 26.5" radiator core support

My radiator support has succomb to a mice nest and needs to be replaced.

I would really like to find a good used core support since this is not a restored car but just an original paint driver, but I am starting to give up on finding one. Given that, I understand Coffman Corvettes sales a really nice core support. I have looked at Paragon, Zip, CC etc. and can't find any differentiator between all of them except Coffmans are more money and claim to be made in USA, and Zip sales a core support made in the USA too. I am guessing these are from the same supplier?

If anyone has a suggestion on which core support to purchase let me know.

    Thanks

    Lawrence

I installed a Coffman core support in my '70. It looked and fit perfectly. I would just order direct rather than guess about the supplier and quality with the other retailers.

How did the core support succumb to mice? Did they eat the steel?

    Usually they just rust out.

Mice urine rusts out metal. There was a large nest right in the corner of support....bummer...

My comment about the supplier was anecdotal. I think I will order from Coffman unless a good used one surfaces soon.

      Thanks Mark.

Mice urine certainly doesn't help, but my 71 no air base engine car had a rotted out support when I rebuilt it in the 80's. I replaced it with a still available at that time GM piece. Fast forward to now, and that support is showing rust separating the panels where they are spot welded on the bottom. Appears trapped water has no where to drain if it gets in there.

Although it was several years ago I installed a new Coffman radiator support on my 69 L46. No issues with the fit or finish.
