    67 hard top

I have an auxiliary hardtop, that came with my car when I bought it in 1975. I am not sure if the top is actually a 67, or an earlier model, as I have not discovered any dates on it. However, I want to restore it to 1967 appearance. The interior trim parts that hold the head liner in place, should they be painted the cars interior color, or are they stainless? Mine appear to be painted over the the stainless. What should it be?

there should be a date on the window.

the trim is painted the interior color.

check the 1967 TIMJG for the details.

The only date I found on my hardtop was written in pencil on the fiberglass under the head liner.

        Thanks Brian,

I have a feeling the rear window had been replaced before I bought the car, as I don't see any date code on it, unless for some reason it was covered by the trim, or seal.

I think I remember reading something about early C2 tops having a screw in the middle of the lower edge, which mine has. I don't remember if it said that had been removed in the 67 tops.
I also replaced the head liner myself many years ago. I don't remember seeing a date, but then again, I was probably not looking for it then.
