    Ralph,

    Here's what their website says:

DOES ELEMENT REQUIRE SERVICE & DOES IT EXPIRE?
Element's solid construction, no moving parts, and lack of compressed gas (unlike a traditional fire extinguisher) means it will never need any service or upkeep. In addition the solid chemical that makes up the Element extinguisher has no effective expiration.

Element makes the world's smallest fire extinguishers that last 5x longer than traditional ones. As seen on Jay Leno's Garage, CarFix, Netflix's Southern Survival and many more, explore our media coverage.

The website says Fire Safety Stick is marketed as Element in North America.

Interesting! If you read the reviews on Amazon only one person (a fireman) has ever used this e 50. Gave it a negative review. I for one don't want to trust a product no one has actually used on a car fire. Videos can be doctored and you never know how many takes it took to get the right results. I will stick to what has worked in the past! Just my old two cents!

And that is why I am carrying 2 extinguishers, the Element 50 and a 10 pound ABC rated dry chem.

Where do you mount a 10 pound extinguisher in a Corvette?

I don't "mount it". It fits nicely (diagonally) in the storage area behind the passenger seat. Actually (I just checked) the label on it states that the gross weight of the unit is 8 pounds 6 ounces, close enough to 10 for me.

                      Leif,

Is the velcro strap stuck directly to the carpet? Is that enough to secure the bottle?

The extinguishers hanging in my garage are that size. Impressive.

What year Corvette? That size bottle wouldn't fit in my C3's jack compartment.

I am putting that extinguisher in a '64 convert. It sits on the bottom of the storage bin - diagonally. Fairly snug fit - I stuff a small hand towel on one side to keep it from rattling around. Element is going in my glove box.
